The Challenge

Plastic Surgery Channel wanted to give prospective patients something they couldn't easily get elsewhere: direct, credentialed answers to sensitive cosmetic surgery questions, plus a fast way to find a real surgeon nearby. Before iMobdev was engaged, that expertise existed only as scattered video content and a loose network of participating doctors, with no single app tying questions, answers, and provider search together.

The pain points were specific to a trust-sensitive category. There was no structured Q&A flow letting a patient submit a question and receive a credentialed doctor's written and video answer in one place. There was no location-based surgeon directory to turn "I have a question" into "here's who can actually treat me." And because the subject matter is deeply personal, the experience had to feel calm, clinical, and credible rather than like a generic content app.

Every patient who couldn't find a straight answer was a patient who either gave up or turned to unverified sources — a real risk in a category where misinformation has consequences. Plastic Surgery Channel needed the app to be the credible first stop, not an afterthought to their video library.

Technically, the Q&A content needed to tie each answer to a specific, verifiable surgeon profile, and the surgeon directory needed to support search by procedure type and radius on a modest early-stage budget.

Our Solution

iMobdev's approach was to design the app around two core jobs patients actually have: "answer my question" and "find someone who can help." Every screen was built to serve one of those two flows without distraction, keeping the tone clinical and calm throughout.

On the architecture side, we built a native iOS app backed by a REST API connecting a Q&A content store to a searchable surgeon directory. Each answer record links back to a verified surgeon profile — credentials, city, and specialty — so a patient reading an answer can go straight from "here's what Dr. Walden says" to "here's how to reach Dr. Walden's practice."

On the UX side, we used a restrained blue-and-white clinical palette throughout, with a tabbed Question / Answer / Profile layout so a patient can move between the original question, the surgeon's written response, and the surgeon's credentials without losing context. The "Find a Surgeon" flow was built as a simple two-step form — procedure type, radius, zip code — with an optional "Use Current Location" shortcut to remove friction for patients on mobile.

For data, the surgeon directory integrates with a location search service to power the radius-based results, while the Q&A archive supports an embedded video answer alongside the written response for patients who prefer to watch.

Delivery was scoped as a single focused release: core Q&A browsing and surgeon search shipped together as the full MVP, prioritizing a fast, trustworthy first version over an expanded feature set.

The Impact

Plastic Surgery Channel launched with a credible, structured alternative to scattered surgeon videos and forum posts — patients can read a real answer from a named, credentialed surgeon and immediately search for one near them. The tabbed Question / Answer / Profile design gave every answer the context patients need to trust it, and the surgeon directory turned that trust into an actionable next step.

The clinical, uncluttered interface reinforced the credibility the brand needed in a category where patients are naturally cautious. iMobdev remains available to Plastic Surgery Channel as they expand their surgeon network and Q&A archive.
