The Challenge
PediaQ set out to solve a stressful moment every parent knows: a sick kid, after hours, and no good option besides an ER waiting room or an anxious night waiting for a pediatrician's office to open. Before iMobdev, PediaQ had the concept — on-demand nurse practitioners who come to you — but no app to actually dispatch, track, or bill a house call.
The pain points were concrete. There was no live dispatch view showing parents which nurse practitioners were actually nearby and available right now. There was no streamlined family profile to hold addresses, insurance, and payment details so a request could go out in seconds during a stressful moment, not minutes. And billing had to support multiple payment methods — card, insurance, PayPal — without turning checkout into its own ordeal.
Every delay between "my kid has a fever" and a confirmed visit was lost trust and a family reaching for urgent care instead. PediaQ needed the request-to-arrival experience to feel closer to ordering a ride than booking a doctor's appointment.
Technically, the team needed real-time location matching against a mobile nurse practitioner workforce, plus a family-account model that could hold multiple dependents, insurance plans, and saved payment methods at once.
Our Solution
iMobdev built PediaQ around a single moment of urgency: get a nurse practitioner to a specific address as fast as possible, with everything else handled in the background. That framing pushed us to put the map and a single big request action front and center, rather than burying it behind menus.
On the architecture side, we built native iOS and Android apps on top of a real-time location service that plots available nurse practitioners on a map around the family's current or saved address, with a live count of "X available within 15 miles" to set expectations before the request is even sent. A Node.js dispatch API matches requests to the nearest available practitioner and manages status through confirmation and arrival.
On the UX side, the map screen leads with a single, high-contrast coral action bar — "Request Nurse Practitioner" — so there's no ambiguity about the next step during a stressful moment. The family profile screen consolidates everyone who matters for a visit: the requesting parent, linked family members, home address, saved payment method, and insurance provider, all editable from one scroll.
For payments, we built a dedicated Payment Method screen supporting multiple saved cards and PayPal side by side, with a clear default indicator, so checkout at the end of a visit is a non-event. The same profile screen doubles as a light growth loop, surfacing a "$50 off next visit" share incentive alongside ongoing promotions.
Delivery was phased: the map-based request flow and dispatch matching shipped first as the core MVP, the family profile and multi-method payments followed, and the final phase focused on notification reliability and cross-device QA so a request never silently fails during an emergency.
The Impact
PediaQ launched with a complete request-to-visit loop — see nearby availability, request a nurse practitioner, and pay — collapsing what used to be a phone-tag process into a few taps from a map. Families can manage dependents, insurance, and payment methods from one profile instead of re-entering details under stress.
The live availability count and single-action request bar gave PediaQ a distinctly on-demand feel that set it apart from traditional urgent-care booking. iMobdev continues to work with PediaQ as it expands its nurse practitioner network into new metro areas.
