The Challenge
Mowadcom approached iMobdev with a common but costly healthcare problem: patients in its target region had no fast, reliable way to find a nearby hospital, check its departments, and lock in an appointment without a phone call. Existing options were a mix of hospital switchboards, outdated directories, and word of mouth — none of which gave patients real visibility into wait times, specialties, or doctor availability before they committed to a visit.
The pain points were concrete. There was no map-based discovery layer letting patients see which hospitals were actually closest and what they offered. There was no self-serve booking flow that carried a patient from "I need a Neurology appointment" to a confirmed time slot without a phone transfer. And because many patients were booking urgent or semi-urgent care, the experience had to surface department-level availability, not just a generic "contact us" form.
Every unbooked or misrouted patient was a real cost — a delayed diagnosis, a frustrated caller, or a hospital losing a booking to a competitor with a better front door. Mowadcom needed a mobile-first platform that made hospitals as easy to browse and book as a restaurant reservation.
Technically, the team needed the app to work cleanly across a network of partner hospitals with different department structures, doctor rosters, and calendars, without forcing every hospital onto identical back-office software.
Our Solution
iMobdev designed Mowadcom around a single mental model: find a hospital on a map, see what it offers, and book straight into a real calendar slot. That model drove the navigation structure, the visual hierarchy of hospital profiles, and the calendar-first booking screen.
On the architecture side, we built native iOS and Android clients backed by a Node.js API layer, with hospital, department, and doctor data modeled independently so each partner hospital could expose only the departments and time slots it actually supports. A geospatial index powers the map view, ranking and pinning nearby hospitals in real time as the patient moves or searches.
On the UX side, the home screen leads with an interactive map and a searchable list, with a slide-out menu keeping account, notifications, and support out of the way until needed. Hospital profile pages pair a hero photo and star rating with a clear Department / Information tab split, so a patient can jump straight to "Book now" against the specific care they need — Coronary Care, Neurology, Cancer Center — instead of a generic contact form.
For the booking flow itself, we built a calendar and time-slot picker that only shows real, open appointment windows, followed by a confirmation screen showing the assigned doctor's photo, specialty, appointment time, and hospital address before payment — reducing no-shows and mismatched bookings. Payment and confirmation were integrated as the final step of one continuous flow rather than a separate app or portal.
Delivery was phased: the map and hospital directory shipped first, department-level booking and the calendar flow followed, and the final phase focused on payment integration, notifications, and cross-device QA ahead of the multi-hospital rollout.
The Impact
Mowadcom launched with a complete, self-serve booking journey — from map discovery to a paid, confirmed appointment — replacing a process that previously relied on phone calls and front-desk transfers. Patients can now compare nearby hospitals, drill into specific departments, and book the next available slot with a specific doctor in a few taps.
For Mowadcom's hospital partners, the department-level booking structure meant faster, better-routed patients and fewer missed appointments thanks to clear confirmation details. iMobdev continues to work with Mowadcom as it onboards additional hospital networks onto the platform.
